Google is letting you take more control over what shows up in your search results with a new feature called Preferred Sources. Basically, you can now pick your favorite blogs, news outlets, or websites, and Google will give them more visibility when you search. They started testing it back in June, and it’s rolling out soon for English users in the US and India.

Using it is super simple. Just search for a topic on Google, hit the preferred sources option, type in the sites you want to prioritize, and refresh your results. You can add as many sources as you like, though stacking too many kinda defeats the purpose. Once set, your chosen sites will pop up in a “top stories” or “from your sources” section whenever you search.
If you were part of the early Labs test, your preferences should already be saved. Beyond giving you more control, this feature is also a win for publishers—they can encourage readers to add them as a preferred source, which could help boost their reach and social media follows.
